Jaws Challenge Put On Hold "Absolute Maniacs" have to wait
After the first heat of the Men’s 2018 Jaws Challenge, the World Surf League (WSL) put the contest on hold due to the waves being too large for paddle-in surfing. Instead, a heavy freesurf tow-in session ensued that you have to see to believe.
Surfers that are being towed into 65-foot waves and are putting on an absolute show.
In comparison to paddling into big waves on a big board, being towed in and surfing on a smaller tow board allows elite-level big wave surfers additional mobility and speed. Thus, giving them the ability to surf like absolute maniacs.
