Red Bull Party Wave, the competition challenging creative teams to build their own surf vessel and ride the best wave as a team, will return to the shores of Waikiki’s Kuhio Beach fronting the famous Duke Kahanamoku statue on Sunday, Aug. 27. Competing teams will be decked out in themed costumes, perform a skit on the beach and then paddle out together to collectively catch some waves. Up to 30 teams will be selected to compete after submitting the most ingenious and innovative surfing crafts applications. The 4th annual Red Bull Party Wave will be the final event of Duke’s OceanFest for the second consecutive year, the weeklong Waikiki Premier Ocean Sports Festival honoring Hawaiian legend Duke Paoa Kahanamoku.
Our grand prize for the 2017 Red Bull Party Wave champion will be an all-inclusive sunset cruise experience for your team and 30 of your closest friends on the Hawaii glass bottom boat!
